1 - What has changed?

Pages are updated from time-to-time, on an adhoc basis. Pages that contain information that changes most often tend to be the ones that get updated most frequently. For example: Events, South Downs National Park, Local organisations and Local services

As pages are updated they are being made more suitable for viewing with a display resolution of 800x600 pixels.

7 - What does this website contain?

This website is primarily about the historic village of Findon and the nearby Iron Age hillfort of Cissbury Ring. However, it also contains information about other things such as photography and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The floating menu on the left-hand side of the page serves as a site map. To navigate your way around this website, select one of the options in the floating menu and follow the links on the pages that you visit.

Alternatively, if you are looking for something specific then try using the search facility.

Select the Search findon.info option at the top of the page.

NB -This depends on how often Google's spider crawls around this website, hence recent changes may not yet be reflected.

8- Why are some parts of this website out of date?

This website contains a lot of pages; it's a bit like painting the Forth Bridge (ie it's a never ending task!). While this site hasn't been around quite as long as the Forth Bridge, sometimes it feels like it! Most of the original construction effort was put in between 1997-1999. Little changed during 2000, however work on updating it began in during 2001 and has continued to date.

So, work on updating the this site is ongoing. Out-of-date pages are gradually being updated, however because it's quite on the left-hand side of the pagea big site there's lots that needs to be done, so please be patient. All newly updated pages are validated to ensure they are XHTML 1.0 and CSS compliant. If you don't know what XHTML or CSS are then visit the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) page.

This website has been accessed million of times since it was launched in 1997 and seems to have taken on a life of its own.

9 - How do you do that?

And why is the owner of this website so paranoid about security?

10 - What's the purpose of this site?

Good question! I used to say that it's a repository for all sorts of information about the historic village of Findon, and the nearby Iron Age hillfort of Cissbury Ring - past and present and Chanctonbury Ring. It still is! However, it now also contains information about photography and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), plus many hundreds of links to other useful sites.

The three main links pages are:

The site has been expanded to include information about Findon Valley, Church Hill and the proposed South Downs National Park.
