Introduction

I provide a range of IT services that are aimed at Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and private individuals. These include consultancy, various Web services such as Web site design and site surveys, suuport and tuition. For further information please select one of the options above.

IT tuition

Beginner

Do you need someone who can provide you with a gentle introduction to using PCs, learn to use Word, printers, scanners, digital camera, etc?

Intermediate

Do you need someone to help install and/or configure anti-virus software, install a firewall, get connected to the Internet, organise your computer filing system more efficiently, learn to use a new application such as Excel, etc?

Advanced

Do you need help configuring a firewall, finding drivers for new hardware, building an e-commerce Web site, eradicating persistent spyware, learning a programming language, etc?

Experience

I have more than 25 years experience in IT and am well qualified to provide PC tuition.

Prior to the arival of DOS, I used mainframe computers, minicomputers and CP/M-based machines. Since then I have used both the DOS and Windows operating systems. I have also used other operating systems such as Linux, plus numerous programming languages. I ran my own PC dealership (1986-1990 and still build my own PCs.

I build and maintain various Web sites, using HTML and XHTML, plus a variety of Web-oriented scripting and programming languages such as JavaScript, Java and PHP.

Since the arrival of Windows, like countless other people, I have worked my way through the various versions, up to and including XP Pro and used a wide range of PC applications. Hence I can find my way around most Windows applications with comparative ease.

I have also run adult education evening classes in the use of computers and provided private tuition on a one-to-one basis for many years.

If you are having difficulty using PC software, then I might be able to help you. I provide tuition in the use of a PCs, a number of Windows applications, plus some markup and scripting languages.

I provide IT support, on a no-fix no-fee basis, and tuition on a one-to-one basis, either face-to-face or via e-mail.

Prices

The initial first hour of tuiton is free. During our assessment chat, if I feel that I can help you then I let will you know. I then charge £20 per hour, plus £5 per additional 15 minutes. So for example, one and a half hours of tuition in the use of an application such as Excel or Dreamweaver, would cost you £30.
