This page contains information about some of the technology
used to build and maintain this site.
Out-of-date
HTML 4.01
pages are gradually being upgraded to comply with the
XHTML 1.0 standard.
Each new (or updated) page is checked
using the W3C's
on-line Markup
Validation Service, or sometimes locally
using an HTML validator called A
Real Validator.
All links on each new (or updated) page
are checked using the W3C's
on-line Link
Checker.
The floating menu system on the left, which is used throughout this site, was built
using software supplied by:
All the pages on this site are controlled using Cascading Style Sheets
(CSS).
I use DHTML
(ie XHTML
and JavaScript)
to display dates, images, pop-ups, etc.
Graphics are manipulated using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2,
and Flash animations, like those on the home page, are created using
SWiSH.
Files are uploaded to my Web host's server using
WS_FTP Pro.
In order to maintain a high level of security,
I use leading anti-virus, firewall, spam filter and anti-phishing products,
plus the best adware, spyware and Trojan scanners available, and never
download, or open, unsolicited file attachments. I never reply to spam or purchase products advertised via spam.
I block keyboard and other monitoring, my IP address is cloaked and my registry is closely monitored for changes.
